Service was great and staff are always friendly. There were some communication problems in that I had no phone signal one day and was out of reach. On an another day I didn’t know I was due to collect the car because I was not contacted. These are trivial issues in the grand scheme of things because I have had excellent care for 11 years from Walkinshaw and the team there. And on that topic, it is always great to go back to the showroom and service centre because the staff there now were there when I bought my first VW. That is a very strong sign to me of things being done right and people being treated exceptionally.

She welcomes me, always. Noreen was also keeping a watching eye on a new recruit and was extremely helpful in assisting this person who I met on arrival. Noreen understood my request’s quickly, actioned them correctly and in a logical order and helped the new guy and me by explaining all she was doing and why. It was the caring approach she provided to both me and the new person that was impressive. It all goes to creating the right impression of having values and principles and delivering quality.

From the moment I contacted Paul Schofield at Walkingshaw VW Workington via email. I was treated with the utmost respect. The whole experience was calming and reassuring even though there were a couple of minor issues with our new car, we still felt completely at ease. The works were for service and MOT. This was completed on time, the retailer advised of a defect with the front number plate and rectified. The number plate had been replaced by insurance authorised repairer recently, but Walkingshaw observed the number plate did not meet the required standard. I was very please how Walkingshaw dealt with this issue. It demonstrates their focus on their works.

prompt, clear communication from chief mechanic who was open and honest about the problem and who gave great service in giving options and liaised with other departments at the dealership to give us all available options. As an ex customer service manager I found this outstanding. The reception and service team were also outstanding by smoothing out any difficulties and being courteous and efficient.

My car went in for investigation for clutch slip at 9am by 11.45am Mike had rang and asked me to call him or preferably call up so he could show me what the problem was . We went and he showed the problem, explained it well and gave us our options and time to think about it all. He then liaised with sales in case we decided to buy a replacement vehicle (it was a very large bill for repair) , organised a courtesy car for me for getting to and from work, and then gave us an itemised bill for repair costs. We decided to have the car repaired but feel the customer service given here was fantastic.

I was able to get the problem with the emissions warning light resolved, at a highish cost, and was given an early next-day appointment to get my car MOT'd so that I could use it.

My MOT was expiring that day and they needed a Lambda probe to arrive overnight before it could go through the test, but the following day was busy with appointments (it can take as long as a month to get an appointment). However, they arranged to get the part fitted and the MOT carried out at 8am the following morning, when I brought the car back in, enabling me to continue using it, as it passed the MOT.

I had ordered a e-UP when they first came on the market, but the delivery date kept on receding so we cancelled the order. However the opportunity to buy an up to date top model 2023 demonstrator with a good deal with my part exchange was far better!

Paul showed brilliant customer service towards me and my mum, he came outside and said asked us if we needed any help, I wondered if you had any polos in stock, so he went off. One of my only requirements was to have a reversing camera. He came back a little bit later and found one (which is the car that I bought) we took it on a test drive and I was very happy with how it drove. With some dealerships the sales people are pushy towards you but Paul wasn’t like that and allowed us space to think about the decision, he explained everything and answered the questions that I had, he checked in as well to see if I was enjoying the car? Walkingshaws phone us when they saw they’d need us there an hour earlier ... they were efficient getting on with then job straight away ... they consulted when it became obvious that there was a problem with a tyre and fixed the problem ... they were pleasant, polite and helpful throughout and even the manager stopped by for a chat! I got through two coffees and a cold drink and finished off a book while waiting in a very pleasant waiting area and our car was MOT'd just behind the picture window into the service area!
